Uniform Expectations from September 2025

Years 7 to 11

  • School Blazer (black or blue) to be worn with or without plain black jumper or cardigan
  • Plain white shirt, tucked in, top button done up
  • School tie, attached to the top button of the shirt
  • Plain full length, black, tailored trousers, black tailored shorts or pleated skirt with school logo to be worn with black tights. Skirt not rolled up. 
  • Plain knee length, black, tailored shorts.
  • Ankle socks

Permitted Alternatives

  • Plain black shalwar
  • Black or white kameez
  • Black or blue dupatta or hijab – ties must still be worn

Acceptable Shoes

  • Plain black leather or leather style shoes
  • When selecting school shoes, ensure they are appropriate for an office setting. 
  • Trainer-style shoes, like those shown below, are not acceptable as school shoes.

Items Not Allowed

  • Skin tight trousers, leggings, jeggings, cropped trousers, trousers that resemble sports wear or jean style trousers
  • Open toed shoes
  • Hoodies
  • Hats
  • Logos
  • Coloured t-shirts worn visibly underneath school shirts

Hairstyles – Not acceptable

  • Shaved patterns
  • Unnatural colours; multiple colours

Cosmetics

  • If make up is worn, it must be discrete
  • No nail extensions or nail ornamentation of any kind

Jewellery

  • If jewellery is worn, it should be discrete and must not compromise health and safety guidelines.
  • One pair of stud earrings per ear max and one nose stud maximum
  • We recommend that students do not wear jewellery on days when they have PE lessons.
  • Staff will not take responsibility for lost jewellery.

PE Kit

  • Black tracksuit bottoms/shorts/skorts with or without the school logo
  • PE top with the school logo
  • School rugby shirt (optional)
  • Black football socks 
  • Pair of trainers
  • Shin pads
  • Plain black base layer

Students must bring full PE kit to all lessons, even if not taking part.

Students not bringing kit will wear borrowed kit. Students refusing to do so will be issued with an S2 detention.

Students not taking part require a note from parents; students will be given a role.

Uniform Issues
Students are expected to wear the correct uniform and follow all guidelines every day.Where uniform is not adhered to, the form tutor will issue a uniform violation detention and a yellow notification slip – one slip per day.  If there is an ongoing issue, the student should bring this to the HOY’s attention, so that HOY and parents can resolve it.

Stationery

Students are expected to be fully prepared for all lessons by having the correct equipment with them at all times. Failure to bring the required equipment will result in an S1 (30-minute breaktime detention). The essential equipment students must have includes:

  • School Bag such as a backpack large enough to accommodate an A4 ring binder

A clear pencil case which will need a minimum of:

  • 3 or more black pens for written work
  • 2 or more pencils for graphs and other drawing
  • Coloured pencils
  • Gluestick
  • Scientific Calculator (see below for Mathematics recommendations)
  • Ruler, preferably 30cm and in good condition
  • Rubber
  • Sharpener
  • Highlighter pens

In order to be used in examinations, calculators must:

  • be of a size suitable for use on the desk;
  • be either battery or solar powered;
  • be free of lids, cases and covers which have printed instructions or formulas.

The students taking examinations are responsible for the following:

  • the calculator’s power supply;
  • the calculator’s working condition;
  • clearing anything stored in the calculator.

Calculators must not:

  • be designed or adapted to offer any of these facilities:
    • language translators;
    • symbolic algebra manipulation;
    • symbolic differentiation or integration;
    • communication with other machines or the internet;
    • be borrowed from another candidate during an examination for any reason;
    • have retrievable information stored in them – this includes:
      • dictionaries;
      • mathematical formulas;
      • text.

Translate
