Sixth Form Volunteering

All students at Paget High School Sixth Form are encouraged to participate in volunteering opportunities. The Sixth Form Team regularly circulates local, national, and overseas volunteering opportunities to all students via email and in the Study Rooms. Paget High School has developed links with local organisations including the Penny Appeal, YMCA, Barnardos and Staffordshire Police Cadet Scheme as well as fundraising and events support. The School also  promotes national schemes such as the NCS programme, which focuses on developing students’ skills for work and life.

Volunteering opportunities include:

  • Hospital volunteers
  • Charity shops
  • School mentoring
  • Staffordshire  Police
  • YMCA Food Bank
  • Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire Cricket
  • Penny Appeal Humanitarian Leaders
  • International volunteering schemes such as ICS https://www.volunteerics.org/

Students can find their own volunteering opportunities by searching https://do-it.org/

Volunteering provides an excellent opportunity for students to help others and make a difference in the local community. Volunteering can also help you stand out from others on university and job applications
